Note from Sacramento

And the travels continue! But this time, the whole family is here! :-)

We flew up on Saturday with Jojo (It was his second time flying!) and he even got his own seat since there were only 30 people on the plane. Unfortunately, even though I am now feeling OK, Jojo and Christine are still a bit sick. Sunday was a big long day with Evangel Baptist Church in Sacramento. They've decided to support us as a group. Pray for the individuals in the church who also expressed interest in getting behind our work.

Today, Christine and I treated ourselves to an overnight stay at a tropical-themed Bed and Breakfast in town. We had dinner on a big white steamboat called the "Delta King." This is the first "vacation" we've had in almost two years! Jojo spent a few hours with his grandma tonight and is back at her place sleeping now. We'll see him in the morning.

What B&B did you guys stay at? Jen & I have eaten at the Delta King before. They have a theatre below deck too that hosts some pretty great plays. We saw one that I think was the funniest play I've ever seen (of course I can't think of the title).

You know, I have alot on my mind today. I know you're going on your mission soon and you'll face challenges. Well, here we are in our neighborhood and it just doesn't feel safe sometimes. Helicopters flying over every night. Someone got shot in back of our house tonight at the 7-11 that backs us. Okay God, is this our mission field? Will my family be safe? Would you rather have us somewhere else? It's important to really know God's heart in all of this.

Hey Ryan,

We went to a place called the Inn at Parkside and stayed in the Tranquility room. Check it out at http://innatparkside.com

It's very nice and I highly recommend it as a "mini-vacation" or getaway in town. Here's the exact room we stayed in: http://innatparkside.com/room_tranquility.htm

Oh, and believe it or not, that same stuff happens here in La Mirada, too. They found a whole family hacked up in Santa Fe Springs just 5 minutes from our house. And a dead body in a parked car just a minute away. The world ain't safe. But God's mission for us can't wait for "ideal conditions." Stay strong in what God has called you to do where you are.
